Tribal Solid Waste Advisory Network

Tribal Solid Waste Advisory Network

Founded in 1997, TSWAN is a non-profit alliance of Native American Tribes from throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska striving to make effective and environmentally responsible solid waste management a priority on our reservations and in our communities. In the Tribal tradition of being responsible caretakers of the earth, TSWAN works to embody the spirit of environmental stewardship by focusing on improving the way solid waste is managed and controlled on Native American lands. Primary goals are to share technical expertise, information and educational resources, and opportunities with one another, as well as provide Tribal perspective to agencies and organizations designing waste programs so they are effective in Indian Country.
