Quapaw Tribe Environmental Cleanup Project

The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma has just been green-lighted for a nearly $2 million environmental cleanup project. Approximately 80,000 tons of hazardous material off Highway 69, just northeast of Quapaw, will be removed.

“There’s been a lot of economic value taken out of this area from tribal members. To clean it up, and to put it back into good use has always been a goal of the Tribe,” Craig Kreman, Assistant Environmental Director.
